Nail Polish, for lack of a better title

As in my faves.

My most recent color has been black. Plain, simple, goes with everything. Lauren Conrad often sports it (which to me, is a good thing). However, the only thing I would warn against is being pasty white like me often looks a tad weird with black nail polish. Luckily I've acquired a sort of tan lately because of summer, so it didn't look bad, but just a warning. In this case, white (skin) and black (nail polish) do not look very good together. $2

I currently am sporting this very shiny girly pink (complete with flower design on my ring fingers. Those Vietnamese ladies can spot me a mile away as a pushover, they hardly even have to ask if I "want flower?" any more. And if any of that last bit offended you, sorry, I watched too much Blazing Saddles as a child). But, what I have really been after for awhile is a deep dark purple that's almost black, although I haven't found any... maybe the above will do, but it's hard to tell unless I see it in person. $2

My favorite red is "I'm Not Really a Waitress" by OPI. Do you get your nails done at the nail place across from the library on Bronson? They paint the best flowers...

When it comes to nail polish, I'm very traditional and I just stick to red. I love all shades of this color--racy red, cherries in the snow, roses are red, red revolution, etc. (I think you get the idea)

Oooooooohhh, my favorite topic nailpolish. Girl, you know I can't live without a manicure (in my case acrylic tips with pink/white powder combo, all set with gel) and pedicure. In fact, if I was a homeless woman, I would be with the other Lawndale homeless at the 405 freeway exit near Hawthorne Blvd, holding a sign stating,"Will work for mani/pedi". Of that dark purpleish, almost black color you are looking for, a decade ago there was a nailpolish color by Chanel called Vamp, every supermodel wore it, and it was coveted by everyone who reads Vogue, and soon was a sell out at Chanel counters everywhere. I honestly don't know if they still carry that color anymore but you could look it up. In fact, now when I see young celebrities with their black nailpolish, I think of Vamp. My favorite colors for my toes anyways are OPI's I'm Not Really A Waitress, Chick Flick Cherry, and Melon of Troy. I don't do flowers because I don't think anyway over thirty should. I also prefer my nail salon, Best Nails and Spa.

I do love nail polish and pretty much stick with Sally Hanson anything, although I do also like OPI. I've been meaning to try their pen nail polish. Which Sally Hanson also came out with. I like reds, pinks, anything iridescent, and my current favorite, fuschia. I'm envious of women who can wear pearl. I've currently been wearing Hanson's Ice(pink)for the summer. Has anyone tried Borghese's(did I spell it right?) yet? I don't really want to spend $8 on it.

Hot pink! It was very popular in the 80's and I was never able to find it anywhere. I think I may have finally found it, or something very similar, at Target.

I do also love red nail polish, as well. It can look very nice with short or long nails (not too long, though...then you just look witchy!) I have a sparkly red nail polish that looks sooooo cool, but I'm almost out, and I haven't been able to find it anymore :(

And I have quite a collection of nail polish in general. I can never really decide on what color to wear next!

For some reason I've been on this kick of wearing blues. I like having flowers on my toes but for some reason I can't find anyone who can make a good looking flower. When we lived in California I had no problem finding a nail salon that knew how to make a flower. Anyone in Washington know of a salon?

Believe it or not, I have definite opinions on this subject. First of all, No Man should ever get his nails done. Period. End of story. Secondly, the only acceptable color of nail polish is red (preferably a darker red - burgandy with a little gloss or sparkle to it). I must say, however, that the dark blue that my wife is currently wearing looks very nice. Flowers are a rip-off. They should be given for free to good repeat customers. Don't get me started on facial waxing!
