The Six Item Experiment

One of my favorite bloggers, Bunnyshop, has been writing about her attempt at the six item experiment, that a reader informed her about. Essentially, you wear the same six items of clothing for a month, excluding undergarments, outdoor jackets like rain slickers, shoes, and workout clothes. The writer of bunnyshop said this was not such a hard experiment for her since she spends half her day in yoga pants. I got to thinking, this would not be a hard experiment for me either, and that's probably because I sort of wear the same six things over and over. Below are the six items I would wear if I did the experiment, which I am choosing not to do because it would mess up my rotation..those of you who know what my rotation is can shut it ;)
I wear this shirt a lot because I've been told it's a good one for my body type. It does in fact have a lot of aspects that I like in a shirt, like an empire waist and cap sleeves, plus a cute paisley print is not usually a bad thing. I also like that this shirt is versatile. I've worn it to work. I've worn it to a Taylor Swift concert. I can wear it many places!

This poorly lit picture makes it look like this shirt look purple, but it's more of a pinkish purple. This shirt has many qualities that I have been advised against, like a banded bottom and a round neckline. But you'll notice in the picture it has a v-neck. I'll tell you a secret, sshhh! I wear this shirt backwards in order to get the better v-neck neckline that better compliments my round face (my facialist so kindly put it that I have plenty of collagen in my checks). Yes, that's right, it means that the (actual) front of the shirt is rounded but the back has a v-neck. Why that is I'll never know, you'll have to ask Target. But I do like this shirt and have become to appreciate it because it's so worn in it's very comfortable.

You can't really see this shirt well with the lighting either, but it's cream colored with gold roses. I get a lot of compliments on this shirt. It's comfortable but with the right accompaniments can be dressed up.

This is my absolute favorite shirt. Good 'ol American Eagle. I get a lot of compliments on this one too, and it never feels blah or boring. It goes with many colors and many styles. It may look like purely a summer shirt, but you best believe I wear this year round. My friend Alyssa pointed out that most of my shirts are floral patterned, and suffice to say that is true
These shorts are from the Levi's outlet, and I contemplated buying them because they were $30, about $20 more than I think of spending on any piece of clothing. I no longer have that doubt because I wear the heck outta these shorts. I am not the girl who enjoys wearing shorts so short I'm practically flashing something indecent. No. These hit my knee, they're a nice dark wash, and they're sturdy. They're very versatile, so much so that I'm ashamed to say I've worn them to walk around the track. Don't judge me.

Last but not least are my favorite capris. The denim has a bit of stretch so they're always comfortable. I have in fact worn these pants two days in a row, with two different shirts, and no one seems to notice or care. Which I believe is the conclusion most people came to when participating in the actual six items experiment. So all is well that ends well.

I would have such a hard time limiting my wardrobe to six items...NOT! White Polo and Jeans to work everyday. White Tee-Shirts and Jean Shorts on the weekend. Hawaiian Shirt every Friday. No Sweat!

I wear the same outfits over and over again, too. I always wonder if other people notice and if so, what are they thinking? :O

But I hate shopping, so oh well to them :)
