Holler if You're Ready for Some Summer Nights
Today was my last day of my first year of college. And I am sitting in my basement, watching Pirates of the Caribbean with my brother, the fan blowing on me, and everything is pretty good. Except for the fact that I am up to my eyeballs in stuff that was in my dorm room for the last ten months. But we won't talk about that, because it overwhelms me. I've already had enough disappointment today. Like when I was denied returning a purse to Nordstrom despite their reputed excellent return policy. And then sitting in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic on the way back from said unsuccessful trip.
But Anyways! I officially have about four days of summer before I start my Costco Internship. For which I am very excited. And as if that were not enough, I will also reprise my role as Library page/employee for the summer, approximately three afternoons a week after my internship. I think I will be tired, but I think it will be more than worth it! I really need to make up for lost time and lost money, and it's not as if I have anything better to do this summer. It'll be really constructive and force me to time manage. Plus I love all my coworkers at the library, they are amazing. And I have a feeling that I will have a great time at Costco too.
Everyone wish me luck! I will try to blog as much as possible, as per usual, but with my upcoming schedule I can't make any promises.
And lastly, for your musical enjoyment, the lyrics to my new fave summer song, Summer Nights by Rascal Flatts:
It's Summer nights, Baby!
Come on ladies, it's time to pop that top,
And fellas, I know you're ready to rock,
We went crazy, cooped up all winter long,
And school is out so let's get it on,
Flip flop tan and some white sand,
I know the perfect spot.
Well, the sunset better set soon,
So, we can get in the mood,
Things start getting all heated up,
When it starts getting cool -- Yeah!
Summer nights,
Everybody are you with me?
Let that igloo cooler,
Mark your piece of paradise,
Summer nights,
Everybody's feeling sexy,
Holler if you're ready,
For some summer nights
Come on - Oh yeah, yeah
Now fellas, you better watch your step,
Don't them teeny french bikinis,
Make you lose your breath?
Back to the ladies,
Ya'll keep going Ya'lls thing,
'Cause everything about you,
Makes me wanna scream.
The sun is getting low,
There it goes,Here we go, here comes the moon,
Things start getting all heated up,
When it starts getting cool - yeah!
Summer nights,
Everybody are you with me?
Let that igloo cooler,
Mark your piece of paradise,
Summer nights,
Everybody's feeling sexy,
Holler if you're ready,
For some summer nights
Oh, it's a part down in Padre,
Big bonfire on the beach,
It's coronas in Daytona, ya'll
Well, it's wild and it's free
Summer nights,
Everybody are you with me?
Let that igloo cooler,
Mark your piece of paradise,
Summer nights,
Everybody's feeling sexy,
Holler if you're ready,
For some summer nights
Summer nights,
Everybody are you with me?
Let that igloo cooler,
Mark your piece of paradise,
Summer nights,

Congratulations on ending your first year! Sounds like your going to be real busy this summer. Try to squeeze in some fun time! I found having a "fun" p/t job with a f/t job helped break the monotony. I hope it does for you too. ;)
Wow Ally your really hit the ground running. No moss gathers under your feet or whatever that saying goes.
Ally,
Thank you for being a wonderful roommate for Lyndsie this year...she has loved rooming with you, and I have appreciated knowing you were both there together...going through all the "first year" stuff. Take good care of yourself this summer, work hard, play hard, and stop by sometime. -Dena (Lyndsie's mom)
Even though it was last summer, it just seems like yesterday that we all were visiting your campus and checking out your dorm room! How time flies! Have a good summer and we wish you luck!
